Resources & Questions Concerning the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Act (DACA)

DACA has come up in the news a lot lately.  It seems like every American has an opinion on DACA, but may not have much knowledge of DACA history and policies.  Everyone has the right to their opinion on DACA, but it is important to back up any opinion with facts.

With this anecdote being stated, take a look at the following resources concerning DACA:

Wikipedia Link to DACA   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deferred_Action_for_Childhood_Arrivals#Illinois

US Citizenship and Immigration Services Link to consideration for DACA

TED Talk: The Involuntary Immigrant, Featured Speaker Luis Mejia

I've also included some questions to ask while looking at these resources.  Keep in mind, these resources are based around DACA and not US immigration policy as a whole:

Who are the people affected by DACA?

What is DACA, what does the act actually do?

Where are DACA applicants coming from?

When was DACA passed and actual law in the United States?

Why was DACA passed, did it achieve it's purpose and goals?

How can DACA be improved so that it can be agreed upon by both liberals and conservatives?

Although I will not state my opinion on DACA, these resources helped confirm and change some of my opinions on the act.  I hope that readers will find these resources helpful.
